We teamed up with Jas from Ohana CBD to get some insight on her morning shakes consistently blogged on her instagram page @ohanacbd and asked her to write us up the secret recipe to share with our followers;
"So my daily morning shakes I have usually consist of the following ingredients;
- 1 large frozen banana
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 1 scoop of vegan hemp protein
- 0.5 (half) a teaspoon of turmeric
- 25mg (half a pipette) of Purephyto CBD+ Energise
- 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder
- 10 spinach leaves
- A sprinkle of cinnamon & black pepper
- A sprinkling of chia seeds
- Manuka honey (optional)
- Gluten free (optional)
Freezing the banana makes it quite thick & creamy, similar to an ice cream - this gives the shake a wonderful consistency and ensures a cool and delicious base when mixed with the almond milk. A scoop of hemp protein helps lower blood sugar and is also high in magnesium - which helps regulate the nervous system, blood pressure, and can even go as far to help prevent heart attach and stroke. For anti inflammatory support I like to add Turmeric, this stuff also raises the antioxidant capacity of the body. Chia seeds are high in omega 3 & is an excellent anti oxidant. The star of the show for me has to be CBD+ Energise, this stuff has really helped to resolve inflammatory related issues, as a big advocate of CBD and its wide versatile uses, I would make sure my morning shake wouldn't go without this stuff. The MCT base of the Purephyto CBD+ Energise gives long lasting energy throughout the day. The spinach leaves and spirulina add some strong superfood elements and boost the shake with oxygenated green power. Finally a touch of chia seeds bursting with vitamins and a sprinkle of cinnamon and black pepper to finish! I generally find this smoothie really filling, packed with everything the body needs to start the day from protein to vitamins and cannabinoids!
